Sandblasting Test

Sandblasting, as a pre-treatment, is a key factor in surface technology in terms of how the quality of the coating effects the surface of the part or component. Sandblasting is frequently used with hard chrome plating, hard chrome plating for repair regeneration and chemical nickel processes. The benefits of sandblasting include its pore-deep, in-depth cleaning of the surface, the compaction of the material and improved adhesion.

Sandblasting is used prior to the coating process to give the base material of the part or component an even roughness depth. Working the part with a defined roughness depth is, in turn the prerequisite for a structured hard chrome plating coating. Sandblasting parts has also proved to be advantageous for greater coating thickness and oversize hard chrome plating.
